Most tax problems start months earlier

Small business tax problems rarely begin at tax time. They start earlier, with disorganized records, a missed payroll deposit, or an entity structure that never fit the business.

A business that keeps clean monthly books knows its numbers before the year ends, and that’s what makes planning possible at all. A business that runs payroll correctly avoids penalties that compound quickly. A business formed with its tax treatment in mind doesn’t need restructuring two years later.

The services on this page exist to prevent problems rather than fix them after the fact. They also mean that when your return gets prepared, the person preparing it already understands your business.

How these fit together

These services work best when they’re connected, and that’s the main reason to keep them in one place.

Your bookkeeping feeds your business tax return directly, so there’s nothing to reconstruct in March. Your payroll flows into your books automatically. If you’re an S corporation, your owner salary is set with the tax consequences in mind rather than in isolation. And a business formed by someone who also prepares returns gets the right elections filed on time.

Split across separate providers, each of those handoffs is a place where something can get missed.

Why work with Triangle Tax & Insurance

The person keeping your books and running your payroll is also an Enrolled Agent who prepares your taxes, and has worked in tax since 2016. Questions get answered during the year rather than in April, and your records are kept in the form your return will need.

You work with me directly, from an office in Cary. I serve clients in English, Hindi, and Nepali.

Accounting and business questions

No. Many clients start with one, such as bookkeeping or payroll, and add others as the business grows. You only pay for what you use.

It’s common and fixable. Catch-up bookkeeping is a large share of this work, however far behind you are.

Primarily QuickBooks Online. If you already use something else, we can talk about whether to stay or switch.
