HOW PRICING WORKS
A fixed monthly price, quoted before any work starts.
Based on your transaction volume, number of accounts, and how much cleanup is needed. Catch-up and cleanup are quoted as one-time projects.
What good books do for you
Current books let you answer questions you otherwise can’t.
Bookkeeping is the ongoing record of what your business earns and spends: every transaction categorized, accounts reconciled against bank statements, and financial statements produced from the result.
Most owners treat it as a tax-season obligation. That’s the smallest part of its value.
Answer questions you otherwise can't
Which services actually make money. Whether that expense that’s grown every quarter is worth it. Whether you can afford to hire. Whether this year is genuinely better than last year, or just feels busier.
Plan taxes before year-end
You can’t plan taxes on numbers you don’t have. Tax planning requires knowing your profit before December, when decisions can still change the outcome. Businesses that reconstruct their year in March have already missed every opportunity the planning would have found.
Get the loan, or the sale
If you ever apply for a loan, bring on a partner, or sell the business, someone will ask for financial statements. What you can produce at that moment is whatever you’ve been maintaining.
Deductions that hold up
Every expense categorized and documented, so the numbers on your return are defensible if the IRS asks.

REVIEW AND YEAR-END
- Monthly or quarterly review conversations, depending on what you need
- Year-end close and tax-ready records
- Direct coordination with your business tax return
I maintain your books on a monthly basis: categorizing transactions, reconciling your accounts, and producing financial statements you can actually read. If your records are behind, I bring them current first.
Where your chart of accounts doesn’t reflect how your business works, I restructure it, because categories that don’t match your operations produce reports that don’t tell you anything.
Because I also prepare business tax returns, your books are maintained with the return in mind throughout the year. Expenses are classified the way they’ll need to be reported, asset purchases are flagged for depreciation as they happen, and by the time filing season arrives the records are ready. That continuity is the main practical difference between this and hiring a bookkeeper and a tax preparer separately.
Is this for you?
If any of these sound like you, a free consultation is the right next step.
- Small businesses without an in-house bookkeeper, where the owner is currently doing it at night or not at all
- Businesses that have fallen behind, whether by a few months or a few years
- Owners preparing for tax season who need their records organized and accurate
- Businesses with messy QuickBooks files where transactions are miscategorized or reconciliations have never been done
- New businesses that want the books set up correctly from the start, which is far cheaper than fixing them later
- Businesses applying for financing that need presentable financial statements
- S corporations that need clean records to support owner compensation and distributions
- Owners who'd rather spend their time on the business than on categorizing receipts
Sound familiar?
Six things business owners tell me most, and how we fix them.
I haven’t touched my books since last year.
Catch-up bookkeeping is a large share of this work. We pull bank and credit card statements for the period, categorize everything, reconcile month by month, and produce statements for the whole span. It’s more work than staying current, but it’s entirely doable, and once you’re caught up, staying current is straightforward.
My QuickBooks says something different from my bank account.
Almost always a reconciliation issue: duplicate entries, transactions recorded but never cleared, or an opening balance that was wrong from the start. Unreconciled books produce numbers that look authoritative and aren’t.
I don’t know if I’m actually profitable.
Usually this means personal and business expenses are mixed, or income is being recorded inconsistently. Once transactions are categorized properly and the accounts are separated, the answer becomes visible, and it’s sometimes quite different from what the bank balance suggested.
My last bookkeeper categorized everything as ‘miscellaneous.’
It happens more than you’d think. A chart of accounts that doesn’t reflect your business produces reports nobody can use. We rebuild the categories around how your business actually operates and recategorize the history.
I need financial statements for a loan application next week.
If your books are current, this is quick. If they aren’t, it’s a cleanup project with a deadline. Either way, tell me the timeline upfront so I can be honest about what’s achievable.
I’m mixing my personal and business spending.
Extremely common, and worth fixing. Separate accounts make bookkeeping simpler, make your deductions defensible, and for an LLC or corporation, help maintain the separation between you and the entity. We can sort out the existing mixed history and set up a cleaner structure going forward.
Behind on your books? The sooner you start, the less it costs.
Every month you wait is another month to rebuild. Start now and walk into tax season with clean, reconciled books.
How it works
From first call to a tax-ready year-end, in seven steps.
Free consultation
We discuss your business, how your records are currently kept, and what state they’re in. No judgment about how far behind things are.
Assessment
I look at your existing records and accounting file, then tell you what’s needed: cleanup, catch-up, ongoing maintenance, or some combination. You get a clear scope and price before anything starts.
Setup or cleanup
If you need a system, I set up QuickBooks Online and build a chart of accounts around your business. If you have one, I fix what needs fixing.
Catch-up, if needed
I bring prior periods current and reconcile them.
Monthly maintenance
Transactions get categorized, accounts reconciled, and statements produced each month.
Review
We go over your statements monthly or quarterly. I flag anything worth your attention rather than just sending files.
Year-end and tax preparation
The books close cleanly and flow directly into your business tax return.
Getting started is easy
Bring what you have to the free consultation. That’s all it takes.
Recent bank and credit card statements
For every business account, the last few months is enough to start.
QuickBooks login, if you have one
Or any spreadsheet or app you use now. No system at all is fine too.
Your last business tax return
So I can see how income and expenses were reported before.
A list of accounts, loans and payroll
Business accounts, loans, credit lines and your payroll provider, if any.
DON'T HAVE IT ALL?
Book anyway.
Tell me where your books stand, however far behind they are, and I’ll tell you what it takes to get them current. After booking, I’ll ask for view access to your accounting file or recent bank statements, whichever exists. You’ll have a clear scope and price before any work begins.
WHY TRIANGLE TAX
Your bookkeeper and your tax preparer, in one.
The person keeping your books also prepares your taxes. Nothing has to be explained twice, questions get resolved during the year rather than in April, and your records are kept in the form the return will need.
One person, books and taxes
The same Enrolled Agent keeps your books and prepares your business return. Nothing gets lost in a hand-off.
Tax knowledge in every entry
Categorization, depreciation and owner draws done with the return in mind, not fixed in April. Getting them right during the year prevents corrections later.
Local, and reachable
You work with me directly, from an office in Cary serving businesses across Wake County and the Triangle.
English, Hindi and Nepali

Bookkeeping questions
How much does bookkeeping cost?
It depends on transaction volume, how many accounts need reconciling, and whether cleanup is needed first. I quote it after looking at your actual records, not from a list of tiers, and you get the price before work starts.
Do I need monthly bookkeeping, or can I just do it once a year?
Annual cleanup is possible and better than nothing. But you lose the two things bookkeeping is most useful for: knowing your numbers while you can still act on them, and the ability to plan taxes before the year closes. Annual reconstruction also costs more per hour than steady maintenance.
What accounting software do you use?
Primarily QuickBooks Online, which works well for most small businesses and lets us both access the file. If you’re already using something else, we can talk about whether it makes sense to stay or migrate.
How far behind can I be before it's too late?
There’s no point of no return. I’ve worked with businesses several years behind. It takes longer and costs more the further back it goes, but it’s always recoverable as long as bank records exist.
Is bookkeeping the same as accounting?
Bookkeeping is the ongoing recording and reconciling of transactions. Accounting is the interpretation: financial statements, analysis, tax implications, and advice. This service covers both, since the same person who records the transactions also reads what they mean for your business.
Do you handle payroll as part of bookkeeping?
Payroll is a separate service, since it has its own filings and deadlines. If I handle both, they’re coordinated, and payroll flows into your books automatically.
Will you find things my last bookkeeper got wrong?
Often, yes, particularly around reconciliation, categorization, and how owner transactions were recorded. I tell you what I find and what it means. Where prior years need correcting, we discuss whether amending is worthwhile.
How do I get my records to you?
Upload statements and documents through your secure client portal, and add me as your accountant user in QuickBooks Online if you already use it. Nothing needs to be emailed or dropped off, though you’re welcome to bring paper records to the office.
How long does it take to get caught up?
It depends on how many months are behind and how many accounts are involved. You get a timeline together with your quote, before any work starts, and the sooner we start, the shorter it is.
